The place where the Church of Ntra. Sra. De Belén is located is one of the most suggestive in Carrión: a viewpoint over the river, surrounded by green space which was the place of settlement of the original castle of the town. Currently it is a privileged place for stargazing during the summer, especially during the night of San Lorenzo.
The current building began to be built at the end of the 15th century, but due to constructive problems, various works were carried out in order to improve its structure. The Virgin of Belén, who is the patron saint of Carrión de los Condes, is located in the Plateresque altarpiece of the main altar. The image is always inside the building, except on September the 8th, when her feast is celebrated and the image is taken in procession until the main square.
